Frequently asked questions
Will iProbio personalised probiotics help me?
Personalised products are primarily intended for intervention, not for long-term use. They serve as a specific product addressing a person’s problems and symptoms.
The probiotics are in powder form. This is the unique Probioact® technology, which withstands storage at room temperature (so refrigeration is not needed), resists digestive juices and stomach pH, thanks to which the bacteria come back to life in full numbers and act at their destination, and which also effectively combines a probiotic and a prebiotic component – so it is a truly unique mix, and in a weight of as much as 1.2kg.
The formulation personalises not only the probiotic strains: into every mix a pharmacist also mixes suitable types of fibre and supporting substances individually. This creates a stronger environment in the gut.
The daily dose of iProbio 2.0® starts at 5g, continues with 10 and ends with 15g for an adult. For children aged 3 to 12 years the dose is halved, so the mix lasts longer than 3 months. Such an amount cannot even be filled into a capsule. iProbio personalised probiotics are still a food supplement, even though they are uniquely personalised and contain higher doses. It is, however, important to consider when taking them is appropriate and when we would rather recommend reaching for products targeted at a specific problem.
- In case of SIBO or an active phase of IBD, or allergy to corn starch: the product is rather not recommended.
- IBD in remission: use may be suitable.

How does the sample collection and stool examination work in the case of a personalised course?
The whole procedure is very simple. Immediately after your order is paid, we will send you a collection kit by courier, which contains detailed written and illustrated instructions on how to take the sample. It is very simple and hygienic. You collect the sample at home.
- When collecting, use the enclosed paper liner to catch the stool.
- Before sticking on the paper liner, lift the seat and wipe the toilet surface.
- Carefully peel off the marked adhesive areas in the direction of the arrow on the liner.
- Attach the stool-catching paper to the toilet bowl without contact with the water.
- Make sure the paper liner is correctly and firmly in place.
- Use the toilet without wetting the paper liner.
- Take out the tubes and collect the samples
Send the sample ONLY on a MONDAY or TUESDAY! If you collect the sample on any other day, PUT THE SAMPLE IN THE FRIDGE IMMEDIATELY AFTER COLLECTION
What do you need for the production of iProbio personalised probiotics?
To produce iProbio personalised probiotics we need:
- The client’s medical history – filled in via an online questionnaire, which gives us detailed information about the state of health, lifestyle and specific complaints.
- Gut microbiome analysis results – this analysis is included in the product price and provides the basis for personalisation.
iProbio personalisation does not just supplement missing bacteria and does not aim directly at changing the overall composition of the microbiome. It is a comprehensive solution to problems, which focuses on results and effect, that is, on the client’s subjective improvement of health.
What are the recommendations after finishing the personalised iProbio 2.0® course?
After finishing your personalised course of iProbio 2.0® probiotics and prebiotics, the decision about what to do next is always in your hands.
Every microbiome is unique and its current state after the course may differ, so it is important to choose the continuation that best suits your body, lifestyle and goals.
Options for what to do next:
1. continuing the personalised course (without a new analysis) If you are happy with the course and want to continue it without a new analysis, it is possible. In this case, please contact us by e-mail. After the order is paid (€690), we will put an identical formulation into production. Production takes about 4 weeks from the receipt of payment.
2. switching to the targeted iProbio range. If you want to continue looking after your microbiome but without personalisation, we recommend switching to standardised probiotics and prebiotics from the targeted iProbio range, which are designed for various needs.
3. taking prebiotics only. If you have adopted the right habits and your gut microbiota is stabilised, you can continue with prebiotics only – nutrition for your own beneficial bacteria helps maintain gut balance.
4. a break or leaving it out altogether. Some clients decide to take a break after the course or to leave out probiotics and prebiotics completely. In that case, it is key to focus on suitable adjustments to diet and lifestyle so that the positive changes in your microbiome last as long as possible.
The important recommendation is that, whichever option you choose, we always recommend: continuing with a balanced, microbiome-friendly diet (rich in fibre, plant foods, fermented products), ideally the Mediterranean diet; minimising stress, alcohol and processed foods; and looking after regular exercise, sleep and overall lifestyle, which have a significant influence on the health of the gut environment and affect the microbiome.
If you need advice on choosing the most suitable option, do not hesitate to contact us on our infoline.
Do you also ship personalised probiotics and prebiotics abroad?
Yes, thanks to the patented Probioact® technology, we now ship the new iProbio 2.0® personalised probiotics and prebiotics to selected countries of the European Union.
Will targeted probiotics help me if I have been diagnosed with histamine intolerance (HIT), and if so, which?
Histamine intolerance is a diagnosis that people often come to us about.
Histamine intolerance is an imbalance between the intake of histamine and the mechanism that breaks it down. That means you cannot break down as much histamine as you take in and produce. With histamine intolerance, however, it is important to choose the right types of probiotics, because some can raise histamine. Our probiotics do not raise histamine and are therefore also suitable for people with this diagnosis. An imbalance in gut bacteria can contribute to raised histamine levels. The right probiotics can restore balance and reduce inflammatory reactions in the gut. Probiotics also help to ease gut inflammation, which can affect the breakdown of histamine. The right probiotic strains can directly or indirectly improve histamine processing. Neither probiotics nor prebiotics serve to treat histamine intolerance, and they also work on a different principle from enzymes. They are only supportive treatment in managing symptoms that may be associated with it. And these are also long-term changes.
From our portfolio we would choose a combination of probiotics and prebiotics. If the intolerance shows itself in functional digestive disorders, then the probiotics HIT na Trávenie+®. If the manifestations are on the skin, then ALLERGIC+®. The prebiotic Mikrobióm+® is suitable to add to both probiotics. It helps above all with the regeneration of the gut barrier and gut wall and the colonisation of the gut microbiome by butyrate-producing bacteria, has anti-inflammatory properties and also serves as an antioxidant.
Are your probiotics also suitable for children?
Most of our targeted products are suitable for children from 3 years. If children cannot swallow a capsule, parents can simply empty out the contents.
The products VITALbiom+®, SPORTbiom+® and LADYbiom+® are suitable only from 12 years.
The product HIT na Trávenie+® contains omega-3, so it may have a slight fishy taste.
Personalised products are also suitable from 3 years.
Will probiotics help me gain or lose weight?
From probiotics alone you neither gain nor lose weight. There is no direct mechanism by which probiotics would cause weight loss or gain.
However, some studies suggest that improving the gut microbiota may affect appetite and metabolic processes.
- In some people, after the balance of the gut microbiota is restored, the craving for sweet and processed foods decreases, which can indirectly support weight reduction.
- On the contrary, in people with a disrupted microbiota or after a long-term restriction of food intake, appetite may return, which can lead to an increase in energy intake.
Probiotics do not primarily affect weight directly, but they can help establish a healthy gut microbiota, which in turn can modify appetite and eating habits.
Which targeted probiotics are most suitable while taking antibiotics?
Food supplement HIT na Trávenie+®. A gap of at least 2 hours needs to be left.
Which targeted probiotics and prebiotics are suitable for diverticulitis?
Probiotics and prebiotics can help with diverticulitis. Probiotics can support the balance of the gut microbiota and reduce inflammation in the gut, thereby potentially reducing the risk of recurrence. Prebiotics, in turn, serve as food for beneficial bacteria and improve the regularity of bowel movements, which can reduce the formation of new diverticula and support recovery after acute inflammation. It is, however, important to know that in acute diverticulitis, fibre and prebiotics are usually introduced only after the inflammation has subsided, in order to avoid worsening pain or bloating.
From our portfolio we would choose a combination of probiotics and prebiotics. A combination of probiotics and prebiotics has a positive effect on the health of the digestive tract and the overall well-being of the microbiome. Mikrobióm+® is a prebiotic, specifically a flavobiotic (i.e. a combination of flavonoids with a proven beneficial effect on the gut microbiome). It helps above all with the regeneration of the gut barrier and gut wall and the colonisation of the gut microbiome by butyrate-producing bacteria, has anti-inflammatory properties and also serves as an antioxidant.
The food supplement HIT na Trávenie+® is a targeted probiotic that will support your digestion. It is a targeted combination of 5 immunomodulatory probiotic strains and OMEGA3 fatty acids. The probiotic bacterial strains in this product were carefully selected on the basis of their scientifically demonstrable positive effects in the management of symptoms of functional digestive disorders.
It is important to remember that probiotics and prebiotics are only supportive therapy for managing symptoms associated with a diagnosis. They are not for primary treatment and their effect is always individual.
Which targeted probiotics are suitable for SIBO?
SIBO is a condition characterised by an overgrowth of bacteria in the small intestine. Probiotics have been studied for their potential role in the treatment of various digestive disorders, including SIBO. However, when it comes to SIBO, the use of probiotics is somewhat more complicated, as it is very individual. The use of probiotics in SIBO depends very much on individual circumstances, so some people tolerate probiotics well and others do not.
Based on studies, HIT na Trávenie+® has a positive effect on easing the symptoms and managing the symptoms of SIBO. We also have clients who are satisfied with the product with this diagnosis. However, as we write, tolerance of probiotics is individual.
Mikrobióm+® serves as food for the good bacteria that live in the large intestine, not the small intestine, and that is why this product is suitable for SIBO. Mikrobióm+® is a flavobiotic, a combination of flavonoids with a proven beneficial effect on the gut microbiome. They are intended primarily for the regeneration of the gut barrier and gut wall and for the colonisation of the gut microbiome by butyrate-producing bacteria, which cannot be produced as an ordinary probiotic supplement. This product is suitable for SIBO.
Do high or low temperatures during transport harm the products?
Our probiotics do not need to be stored in the fridge. For long-term storage we recommend a temperature of up to 25 °C, but short-term exposure to higher temperatures (above 30 °C) or very low ones (-20 °C) during transport is not a problem. We recommend taking them out of the boxes ASAP during extreme temperature swings.
The products are packed in special containers that ensure their stability at both higher and lower temperatures and protect the contents from moisture.
In the case of ALLERGIC+® or personalised courses, the probiotics are additionally treated with the special Probioact® technology, which guarantees their safety and efficacy throughout transport.
